Turmeric “Latté” or Golden Milk is traditionally drunk in India as a health tonic. It is now a trendy drink in many British high street coffee shops but watch out as it can be heavily sweetened. Make your own at home for a soothing and nourishing bedtime drink. Use whichever milk you like,  I find almond works really well.

Ingredients
250ml choice of milk
1 cinnamon stick
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 slice of ginger root
1 tsp honey (optional)
pinch of ground nutmeg (optional)
  1. Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan (except the honey and nutmeg if using).
  2. Warm the milk gently and bring it to almost boiling. Leave it at this gentle heat for 3-4 minutes.
  3. Remove the cinnamon stick, stir through the honey and pour into a mug.
  4. Grate over a little nutmeg.
